CWMSC - 2023 Renewal subscriptions due - email 31st December, 2022

 

View this email in your browser Caversham Working Men's Social Club Good Day Gentlemen and a very Happy New Year, Please note that the annual membership renewal subscription is due from the 1st January, 2023. Membership Cards are available for pick up from the bar on the Monday 2nd January, 2023. Please renew by handing over your till card so that we can link payment to your membership. Fees are the same as last year - £25.00         under 65 £12.50         65+ You will still be able to renew in February, but will be charged an additional late fee of £5. Members who have not renewed by the end of February will have their membership cancelled and will have to go through an application to re-join. The membership is full at this time, but this could change by the end of February. We now have a waiting list of 70 people which will mean that it will become harder to re-join. If you are receiving this email because you are on the waiting list then you will be contacted in March for an invite to join, if there is space available. The club has worked hard to keep renewal prices and beer prices the same for the foreseeable future, even though we are seeing high energy prices and have recently absorbed a brewery increase. We would like to thank you all for renewing in a timely manor as this really does help the club keep prices down. It is great value. Please do visit the club to pay your renewal subscription and pick up your new membership card by the end of the month. Cheques are not accepted. If you now anyone who will not be able to attend the club due to unforeseen circumstance then please do let me know. Some members will not see this renewal request. Please do spread the word to the other members to help remind them. Note: Renewals are not available after 8pm on Fridays. Annual Events

Goodwood:  At around the end of July each year, the club organises a day out on the Friday of Glorious Goodwood horse racing.  This has always proved to be a fabulous day out, and the ticket price includes the coach fare, entry to the grounds at Goodwood. Each member can buy a ticket for himself, plus up to one guest tickets.  Tickets go quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Jolly Boys:  Named after the 1989 Christmas Special of Only Fools and Horses, this is a men’s day out at the seaside.  This is held in September, and the ticket price includes a drink at the club prior to departure, plus the coach fare.

Christmas Party:  The club hosts an annual Christmas Party for children aged between 3 and 9, and is a great fun afternoon for the children and adults alike.

Tickets go on sale from November 1st, and it is always a sell-out, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  The ticket price includes a present from Santa, delivered from his grotto with the help from his little pixie.  Food and entertainment are provided, and there is also a toy raffle.  The party is open to children and relatives of club members, and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.
