Good Afternoon Gentlemen I hope you are all keeping warm on what seems to be a very cold day 'It's so cold - My wife is farting snowflakes' The Bad News! Bar-B-Que's Due to the falling numbers of Rugby watchers - The sales on the Bar-B-Que has not been as good as hoped - Therefor, the social committee has decided not to do a Bar-B-Que on the remaining days of Six Nations Rugby Drinks are on the up Nooooooo! I hear you scream!!! Oh Yes! - It was inevitable that the cost of your pint would increase at some point We have tried to keep the cost of your pint at the current cost for some time now - But as you are all aware - The cost of living has increased dramatically over the past year The breweries alone have had three(3) increases between December 2021 and February 2023 - that's 14 months of increasing prices We are now having to increase our own prices because we can't continue absorbing these increases As of March 1st - 20 pence will be added to all drinks and 10 pence added to all snacks - Tobacco has already been increased to £11 'It's so cold - Even Elsa is complaining' The Good News Goodwood Places for the Goodwood Race Day are now at a premium - 8 Seats remaining - so if you are planning to go to Goodwood - You will need to act fast - £35 per person - this covers the cost of Ticket and Coach Quiz Night Guy will be here on Tuesday 7th March for our regular Quiz Night - A fun filled evening of Quizzing with your friends is high on the agenda - More teams are now attending this fun night  - so come on in and join Guy and his little elf - 6 players per team maximum - £1 per player - winner takes all 'It's so cold - The cow's are producing ice cream' Fish'N'Chip Night George has once again thrown himself into the sea to catch the best fish for this great supper event - Saturday March 11th is the date to put into your diary - You need to add your name to the list behind the bar and pay just £6 for your meal - You have until Thursday March 9th to do this That's all for now! View this email in your browser Caversham Working Men's Social Club Good Morning Gentlemen On the big screen this weekend  Third Round of the Six Nations Rugby Saturday 25th Italy v Ireland at 2:15pm Wales v England at 4:45pm Sunday 26th France v Scotland ay 3pm Membership Renewal of your membership will end on February 28th - so if you haven't already done so - you need to renew now - On the 1st March any memberships not renewed will expire - You will then have to re-apply for membership 'Give me a smile and say Cheese and Wine' Yes! On Saturday March 4th we have a Wine and Cheese tasting evening - with Maurice and Bill It will cost £12 per person  There are 50 places available A list of names is behind the bar  So if you love your wine and cheese - why not join the boys for this great event Fish'n'Chips Oh Yeah!! - Fish & Chip night is on Saturday 11th March - Your favourite host - George Talbot brings you another epic night of fun & food - Add your name to the list behind the bar - Cost remains at £6 per person - last time we had 95 attendees - so lets make it even more this time around That all for now folks!! It's the first Tuesday of the month - this means that your favourite mikable likable is back with another mouthful of quizzable drivel - with a head full of knowledge and a pocket full of promises he just couldn't keep - yes!! it's a smile and a half of self induced lager - The most inebriated man of the moment - Guy Cleall - so lever yourself from that comfy chair of yours and join us for an evening of Quiz and fun As always, Friday night is members night - A full fun evening with your friends is on the menu - with the joker pot growing with every passing week - with extra meat prizes for the raffle, along with the mandatory Beer vouchers up for grabs - It's a great night out At the weekend we continue to show the Six Nations Rugby - With the big fella stoking up the bar-b with the biggest poker you've ever seen - Trevor the endeavour will be cooking the burgers and dogs to stop you going hungry during the games - On Saturday we have Ireland v France at 2:15 - followed by Scotland v Wales at 4:45 - Sunday will see England v Italy at 3:00 Oh!! and don't forget! it's £2.50 per pint during the games Next Week! George Talbot entertains the old fella's on Wednesday 15th - if you haven't put your name on the list behind the bar, you need to do that as quickly as you can - George needs to know how many mouths there are to feed - It starts at 1pm and finishes at 5pm That's All For Now!
